Bio from Matt O’Malley’s website:

City Councilor Matt O’Malley was elected as the District 6 representative to the Boston City Council in a special election on November 16, 2010 and he was re-elected in 2011.  His district includes the neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, parts of Roslindale and Roxbury and the back of Mission Hill.  Councilor O’Malley grew up in Roslindale and today owns a home in Jamaica Plain.  He is a graduate of Boston Latin School and the George Washington University.

Councilor O’Malley is now serving his second term as the chair of the City Council’s Committee on Government Operations and serves as the vice chair of the Economic Development and Planning Committee.

Matt’s priorities are your priorities.  Matt is dedicated to ensuring that all of Boston’s children have access to an excellent public education system.  His goals also include improving public safety, supporting economic development and making Boston a greener city.
